A couple of days ago, when we were walking our dog near a local middle school, we saw several bags of dog poop on the ground next to a nearby trash can. No, the trash can was not full.
While we applaud the efforts of the people who take the time to bag their pooches' poop, those people need to realize that their job is only half done. They need to take a few extra few seconds and put those filled bags into the nearest trash receptacle. How do we persuade such individuals to go all the way in doing the right thing?
That's when we thought of General Larry Platt. Millions of viewers laughed–probably approvingly (we sure did) — when he stunned the American Idol judges with his song "Pants on the Ground." We suspect that a number of individuals who'd been wearing their pants near their knees got themselves some belts and hitched their trousers up an inch or three. At least, we hope that's the case.
Think about it: with just a little tweaking of the lyrics, maybe we could persuade people not only to bag their dogs' poop, but also take take that bagged poop off the ground and toss it into the trash.
